Custom content installation

In the following part you can find a comprehensive guide on how to install every possible modification.

Notes:

  • The following will always only install one modification at once. You can, of course, install multiple modification at the same time. Repeat or multiply the steps shown below to do so.
  • Even though there is no technical limitation to how many modifications can be installed, it is recommended to keep the number of modifications reasonable, as more modifications will take up more resources and can slow down loading times as well as frame rates.

Textures

Textures are usually one .png and one .txf-file per modified texture. The .png delivers the basic texture and the .txf controls the transparency via alpha channels. Make sure to use one folder per texture modification as the game will always check for new folders in the ActiveMod-directory.

How to Install Textures

  1. Select the folder with the entire content (.png- and .txf-files)
  2. Copy the folder into \Mod\ActiveMod\

Notes:

  • Textures can be loaded and refreshed while being in-game, no restart required. Press Alt + R to refresh the textures.
  • Some textures need to be selected in order to take effect (clothing, body textures, etc.). You can select body textures with the “Skin Base” option in the “Body” menu.

Models

There are two kinds of model modifications. Some can be loaded and modified in the Customizer and some can't. The models that can be loaded in the Customizer have the prefix “Customizer” in front of the file name, resulting in a file name like “Customizer####”, while the others have the prefix “Model” (“Model####”).

How to Install Models

Option 1: Customizer Models

  1. Select the entire folder with all its contents
  2. Copy the folder into \Community\Customizer\

Option 2: Normal Models

  1. Select the entire folder with all its contents
  2. Copy the folder into \Save\Models\

Poses

Poses consist of two files per pose, one .pes and .png-file. The .pes contains the data necessary for the game to know how the pose looks and works, while the .png contains the icon for the pose that can be seen in the Browser and the Quickbar.

How to Install Poses

  1. Select the two files (.pes- and .png-files)
  2. Copy the files into \Community\PoseEdit\

Note:

  • Poses must not be placed in folders! Copy the raw files into the PoseEdit folder.

Toys

Toys consist of two files per toy, one .tes and .png-file. The .tes contains the data necessary for the game to know how the toy looks, while the .png contains the icon for the toy that can be seen in the Browser and the Quickbar.

Note:

  • Just like with Models, there are two ways to install toys. If you want to modify the tool later on, choose option 1, if you only want to use it, choose option 2.

How to Install Toys

Option 1: Modifiable Toys

  1. Select the folder containing the two files (.tes and .png)
  2. Copy the folder into \Community\ToyEdit\

Option 2: Useable Toys

  1. Select the folder containing the two files (.tes and .png)
  2. Copy the folder into \Save\

Sequences

Sequences only consist of one file, a .tgc-file. It contains the data necessary for the game to know how the sequence looks and works.

How to Install Sequences

  1. Select the folder containing the .tgc-file
  2. Copy the files into \Community\Sequencer\

.txx-Mods

.txx-Mods are the most critical and game-changing modifications as they can modify basic game data. Use with care and at your own risk! These mods consist of one or more .txx-files.

How to Install .txx-Mods

  1. Select the .txx-file
  2. Copy the file into \Archives\2.114.001\

Note:

  • .txx-Mods must not be placed in folders! Copy the raw files into the \Archives\2.114.001\ folder.
  • .txx-Mods change game data and can cause your game to crash. If it does crash, remove the latest added .txx-file(s) and restart. If it still doesn't work, refer to our Common Issues Page or consider re-installation.
